Dr. Calenthia Miller is a mentor, educator, healthcare administrator, and CEO of Activating Excellence Consulting, LLC, and Canvas of Thoughts, LLC. 

An advocate of learning, Calenthia poured herself into the pages of any book she picked up. She has taken that love of academia and has earned her Bachelor’s in Healthcare Management, Master’s in Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Healthcare Management with a minor in Leadership. She has also devoted herself to sharing her knowledge as an adjunct professor at several community colleges in Virginia. 

Calenthia is the proud mother of two handsome sons, Lorenzo Allen, Kahari Bryant, and Mimi, to Armoni Allen. Calenthia currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, where she works as a Health Center Administrator for a not-for-profit organization. 

Her love for providing service to her community has expanded over thirty-three years. However, in January 2022, while at work, Calenthia suffered a stroke. During her sabbatical from healthcare, she quickly realized that her desire to work tirelessly had masked her ability to recognize and understand the signs that she was stressed. Sadly, this had become her norm.

Equipped with that knowledge, she realized her focus would be now on her. As a result, Calenthia began writing again to increase her cognitive readiness. Her time is devoted to what brings her joy: family, friends, traveling, gardening, writing, and good health. Life is too short; enjoy each day as if it was your last, for our Father did not create us to live in fear, chaos, confusion, or stress. Stay tuned, as Calenthia’s story is still evolving.
